What to Do on Your First Day

When you first sign up and log in, you will be confused. At least I was.  This is just a guide to give you an idea of where to start. I would suggest giving yourself an hour to look through the site and let things start sinking in. Things will start to come together in your mind after looking around the site.

Your first goal is to get on the FastTrack. Don't get scared - it's not as hard as it sounds! To do this, you need to earn 500 VP points in your first 24 hours. You can do it in an hour or two. In fact, if you get on the FastTrack in your first 24 hours, I will send you a TCredit so you can check out the PriceBenders on TripleClicks. I will tell you more about TCredits and TripleClicks later.

After you sign up and log into your account, start here

Sometimes you will land on this page when you first start. If you don't, you will notice a big blue banner across the top of the page. On the left part of the banner is the SFI Affiliate Center. On the right, there is some account information. Under that stuff, there are three little buttons: START, SFI BASICS, and LAUNCHPAD. You want to click on the gray START button.

Watch the start video, and then click through the links under the video. (I think it's easier to open them in new tabs.) Read through them. They might not make any sense yet, but read 'em anyways. Pay special attention to the SFI BASICS.

After you've read through those, click on the SFI Affiliate Center (on the left of the blue banner at the top of the page). This will bring you to your home page. This area has different tabs you need to check every day. Each tab gives you an overview of a different part of your business. At the bottom of each page, there is a blue bar you need to click on, after you're done reviewing the information. (This is one way to earn VP.)

Go to your To-Do List first. This will show your daily tasks. It will also show one-time tasks where you can earn points. These are learning resources. It may be tempting to rack your points up and not read the information, but you will be cheating yourself if you do this. Your purpose at this point is to learn as much as you can, and begin to understand how the system works.

The first thing to do on your list is to review each of the tabs on your homepage. Look around and read everything on each tab. After you've looked through each tab (and clicked the bar at the bottom to get your VP points), all of yours tabs should be in black now instead of red. The only exception is the Ask SC tab. Ignore that for now.

On your To-Do List, you should first confirm your registration and whitelist the SFI email addresses, so your SFI messages don't go to your Spam Folder. (Click on the big green "V" in the top right of the page.)  These two actions will give you 250 VP. You're already halfway there!

Still on your To-Do List, go to the next few items on the Getting-Started Actions. Complete your Affiliate Profile, upload a picture and register to become an a2a member, and send me a Commitment Message. This will bring your point total up to about 420-430. If you have a Facebook and/or Twitter account, you can link those and that will bring your point total up to 500. If you don't have Facebook and Twitter, pick the next few things on the list. Most of these are information pages you need to read. For many of the information pages (anything with an (*) in your list), you will need to click on the green "V" in the top right corner to collect your points.

After you get to 500 VP, you don't need to worry about getting anymore VP points for today. You will receive 200 VP points and a really cool badge for getting on the FastTrack!

Now that you have looked around the site a little and earned your FastTrack badge, are you getting an idea of how SFI works? Go back and watch the start video again, and you might realize that it makes a little more sense.

Sit back and relax now and take a break. You deserve it!

    1. Thanks, Reinaldo. SFI is really confusing when you first join, at least it was for me! I just thought I'd try to make it a little easier. :)
